New Years resolution to own an S series
Discussion
Good luck with your search, and keep us posted. The guys on here are amazingly helpful and virtually all there is to know about the S cars is known by active members of this forum.
That first car Philpott linked to isnt impressive. Unless there is something special that the owner hasn't revealed it almost certainly isnt worth £3k with a 'mixed' interior like that. The owner refers to these cars going for £8k, hmmmmm, I wish! For some reason he appears to have 'disguised' the mileage. A couple of apparently better cars have gone through auctions recently at less than that price. Mine is now pretty well sorted with loads of new parts, fully MOT'd, largely retrimmed....and it is probably worth £3500.
Mind you, being an S1, it does have the best dash!!!

Good luck in your search. It is good advice to find the best car available within your budget regardless of model. There is little real difference in performance on the road. If you are tall and old the S3 does make entry and exit slightly more dignified. You will find masses of support on this forum.
I'll be reinvigorating a similar search when I'm back in the country end of Feb. I had hoped to pick one up this autumn and scouted out a couple (including one from this forum) but have spent the last 5 months being messed around with work and wasn't sure where I would be living. With that now finally sorted I'll be after an S2/3/3C/4 for some summer top down driving!
Feel free to get in touch if you have anything that may be of interest but like I said, I won't be back in the country until end of Feb...

I preferred the S2 dash on my old car, but loved the extra length doors on my V8S.
The S2 always felt like I was dislocating my ankles to get into/out of the car.
But all of the S's are great cars, and a nicer bunch of owners you couldn't wish to meet.
Sadly I got tempted by a soft top T350 (Tamora ) away from S ownership.

Your best way to get an S is for you to do a straight swap with me....your T350 for my S3.
Hi Paul, if you really want an S2 instead of the S3,I suppose I could be persuaded to do a straight swap for your T350, you don't have to part with any extra money to secure the deal Seems a reasonable price for a car with a lot done...but S1 not S2.

If you want to compromise here's a good looking S1.
